For A/E, get an A major
triad(A, C#, E) starting from the A note on the 7th fret, fourth string. Then just put
the E note on the fifth
string in the bass and keep the first string open. For the G/D, use that same shape,
just down a whole step.

Furthermore, he plays the D and Dm barre chord at the 10th fret, using the D note on the
6th string as the root.
And don't neglect the notes in the bass(written as A/E or A with E in the bass). They're
just as important. I
also recommend playing the D7M   all at the second fret(barre strings 3, 2, 1, and keep
4 open). This is because
it allows for an easier transition coming from the F#m/C#.

Lastly, when you're playing the Bmadd11, use your thumb to play the B note on the 6th
string, 7th fret. Then
press the F# on the 9th fret with your second finger and the B note on the 9th
fret(fourth string) with your
third finger, while your first finger plays the D note on the third string, 7th fret.
The second and first
strings are kept open on this chord.
