The song plays the verse with a varied E7 chord as the iii in the progression which I've 
notated below, however you can play an em and it will sound fine. The am in the verse 
is played as a barre chord, but
in the chorus it's open. In the prechorus the C and F are also barre chords, which I've 
notated below, but elsewhere they are played in the standard open and 1st fret barre 
chord respectively
